RE: Driving a B in Mexico

In 2006, Jack and I traveled to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point, Mexico) in our Roadtrek 190 and camped on the beach for 4 nights. We had no trouble making the trip and friends in a 5th wheel went with us. The roads were great, no trouble with clearance. This past April, the 4 of us traveled from Nogales, Mexico to San Carlos. We loved our stay in San Carlos, however, the ride which should have taken 5 hours, took 8, closer to 9, due to either poor roads or construction. Still, not a problem with clearance, but there is little to no shoulder, as Mumkin mentioned. We choose to return to Rocky Point & the Baja in the future.

RE: BEE Social Group, Lafayette, LA Meeting LA LA

We are registered for April 19-24th. No questions asked, except for our phone number. It almost seemed 'too easy'!

RE: Does your B have a name?

"Olivia" While searching for a travel journal, we found a children's book about "Olivia" the pig. The name appealed to both of us, and suited our Roadtrek! Our TomTom is 'Zelda', our 1953 MGTD is 'Bessie'!

Sharon & Bob, we couldn't resist. We took the scenic route and it was fabulous two days. I know Jack took this side trip for we may not be able to make it in October. I stressing over missing all of you and missing the opportunity to see Beatiful Utah! (Roadtrek changed their Balloon Fiesta Rally from the 2nd to the 1st week in October and we wanted to go one more time)! What a beautiful place..Moab. You all will have so much fun. Julie & Chino chose a great place for scenery, food, and fun! By the way, I was able to buy my Senior lifetime pass to the National Parks. $10.00! What a deal!

We arrived home, and I 'think' I was successful in adding our photos to Gary's BEE Social Group website. Please go to: http://groups.msn.com/BeeSocialGroup/pictures and view the 'burch' album.

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

We are sitting in the wind in a campground in Sterling, CO. We sadly left Niobrara this morning....twice. Jack had to remind me, 'when it is over, it's over'! Many thanks to Gary, who provided each of us with an opportunity to have such a good time....the constant campfire, Pot Luck, the Elk & Buffalo Ranch covered wagon ride & tour, the Buffalo BBQ, which included a phenomenal view, live entertainment, and the opportunity to play Snatcho Bingo. And, on Wednesday, the Fly Way Cafe, which accomodated 33 or more of us, and Davydd's request for Pork Tenderloin Sandwich's. Wednesday evening was sharing of snacks, leftovers, and Pie Iron Pies. Most important, was the weather. He must have 'done something right' for the weather was wonderful. Pat, the pie lady, baked 2 pies a day for a week to provide us with dessert, and Marilyn, made coffee for the early risers. Sally and Ron provided all of the BEE bags & 'extras'. Pam & Tim had ANYTHING and EVERYTHING anyone needed or wanted in their 'B'. (including 2 shelters.....where did they find the space?) And so many others worked (and played to make this BEE Social fun and successful). We may not have another chance to post until we arrive home next week. I promised a recipe, a list of correct sites and names to David, and photos to everyone. Sharon and Bob promised to send out the email list, and I will send the KodakShare link early next week. Jack & I are looking forward to the next Social...hopefully Moab, if not ?????? Judy

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

I think we have 6 pie irons to share Anne & Dick, Marilyn & Tommie and 2 from Jack and I. We are contributing the white bread, PAM w/butter & several cans of apple, cherry & blueberry pie filling for the Monday pot luck. We are tired, packed and heading out early in the morning. Travel safe, all! Judy & Jack

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

Gary promised us warm, dry weather. My brother is hoping we do not have hot and high humidity! As you know, we are not funded for any meals for a mini rally. For the Monday Night Potluck, we will provide a 'DISH TO SHARE' as well as bring our own meat, (hot dogs, brats etc, for the campfire), drinks, plates and utensils. (And, of course our chairs!! And, 1) another reminder for each person to bring a $5.00 wrapped gift for 'Snatcho Bingo', where Jack will, as in the past, call out the numbers. 2) since there are so many of us attending, bring your name tags / badges from previous rallies. I will bring all I have to share, if need be. I am also hunting for our pie irons, and long forks for the campfire. Any other ideas? By the way, Pat & Paul, thank you for the update! Judy

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

Sorry to hear you will not be able to be with us, Julie & Chino. Yes, you do have Site #1. If anyone is interested in attending, Site #1 is available! I know not everyone is excited about potluck, but if you would like to participate, plan on a 'something' to share Monday evening. More information on Sunday the 1st!

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

Since so many are attending NE NE, and we are not funded in any way for this rally, please bring your name tags or name badges & lanyards from previous rallies or events. I am bringing all I have in case someone may need one. it is just a social gathering, relaxing, with the added benefit of: Ggup's planning for our Buffalo BBQ and a meeting place, as well providing wood for the our perpetual camp fire, and... NJheart & Irishmist providing the coffee each morning, and... Jack providing Snatcho Bingo, and... Sally & Ron providing a few other surpises, (so I hear)... and... to everyone else contributing to our fun. Judy (& Jack) Just a few more days and we will be on the road.

I received a PM from primeoflife321 (Reuben & Bonnie). They are not able to attend the NE NE BEE Social and wanted me to let you know their Site #75 is open to anyone who may want to attend. We are sorry for the opportunity to meet them.

Welcome Pilgrims2 and B Traveler! Relaxing it will be! I know that NJheart and Irishmist will have coffee ready each morning. They had the coffee ready at the last couple of B and Mini Rallys)! (At least this is what I am told, for most of the time Jack and tend to sleep in). GGup, I am sure, will keep the fire going and, there is always room to roast 'something' over the fire, in addition to our Buffalo! RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

Pat & Paul, we are happy you are able to join us! Julie & Chino, we still hope you are able to join our mini rally. This started out as a very laid back social gathering, and many thanks to GGup, we will have our Buffalo BBQ and other activities. Jack will host the Snatcho Bingo the night of the BBQ, as he did for past rallys. For those who have not played before, bring a $5.00 wrapped gift. We received our Park stickers. (Thanks, Gary, for the information). It was an easy process... When we started this Marty assured me, no stress, no pressure, all we had to do was choose a campground, post it on RV.net, and no other plans were necessary for a mini rally! Look what happened! We will meet in just over a month!

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

We have less than 3 months until NE NE BEE Social. Jack & I can't wait! JulieV and BoboJay, Jack and I are known to 'take our time' in the mornings, also. The good news for the 'early risers' is Marilyn & Tommie (NJheart and Irishmist) ARE early risers and will have the coffee ready very early! At least it was at the B3 and B4 Rallys! Gary, my brother wanted to know the date of the Buffalo / Bison Roast.... He does not want to miss it! Shall we have "Snatcho Bingo" the same night? Is everyone open to playing it again? NE NE BEE Social started out with 'NO' structure... and now, thanks to Gary, we will have much to choose from!

Jack and I were able to register for one of the last 4 sites. We are looking forward to seeing all of you in October. Add another from Arizona.

RE: BEE Social in Niobrara, NE NE

After arriving home from our trek to North, I searched for the NE NE BEE Social forum to see if there were any updates. Yes, Marty, Jack and I are surprised by the response. I searched the Niobrara Website and was not able to search availability of sites. This following information will help you, if interested in attending: The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's reservation service will be unavailable Jan. 1, 2008 at 9 a.m. CST through Jan. 16, 2008 at 8:59 a.m. No reservations, changes or cancellations will be accepted during that time, either online or through the call center. The Commission is joining ReserveAmerica to make reservations to state park areas easier. The new system will include easy-to-use maps, photographs and a shopping cart so users can reserve multiple arrival dates or multiple type of units such as cabins, campsites, picnic shelters and lodge rooms. Beginning Jan. 16, 2008 at 9 a.m., users may go online or call to book reservations up to 12 months in advance. Online reservations can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.OutdoorNebraska.org or www.ReserveAmerica.com. Also, reservations can be made through the call center at (402) 471-1414, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Reservations will not be available via park offices until a later date. Reservations made before Jan. 1 will be transferred to the ReserveAmerica system. ReserveAmerica has more than 20 years of experience in the recreation reservation industry. So until the 16th you can not make a reservation for the NE NE BEE SOCIAL Get to Gather. Just wanted people to know when they could sign up and hope more do sign up! Judy

RE: Renewed Respect for our 2004 Roadtrek 190P

Our Travasak is queen size, but we think it would be usable on a double bed. The reason it is 'priceless' to us is the Summer/Winter feature. This is the first time we actually needed Winter warmth, and it worked.
